A Great way to meet lots of muslims and learn about Islam.

In response to Allen Wiesen ("No Jewish Cabal") and the well-worn cliché of Anti-Semitism:

As a former Jew of Eastern European extraction, an American by birth and now a Muslim by choice, I understand the myopic view of some Jews, particularly supporters of Zionism and its aims to create a Jewish state while vigorously firing the “anti-Semitic” stun gun anytime a comment or opinion is put forth that does not agree with the ingrained view of Jews who follow this line of thinking.

First, I would like Mr. Wiesen or others to give evidence of any historic events over the past several centuries of peaceful coexistence between Palestinian Arabs and Jews that lends any credence to the Zionist lies that Palestinians “want to push Jews into the sea.” This (truly) “anti-Semitic” statement has even been stated on various occasions by Zionists and errant “Christian-Zionist” politicians as well.

Examine the facts carefully and one finds one of the greatest conspiracies in perhaps the history of mankind and that is to attempt the complete expulsion of a native peoples under biblical guise. What else can explain the documented satanic destruction and humiliation that is going on daily by people who believe they are “chosen” by God conferring a higher status upon them. Are the behaviors witnessed daily in Palestine the behaviors of people of such “high status” in the eyes of God?

To Jews who have converted to Islam and from Jews who remain Jews yet do not hold to concocted Zionist notions of a grand superiority and false biblical claims to a piece of land that grants a license for indescribable human atrocities, one can find the truth behind the crime against the Palestinian people. Read Internet sites such as www.Jewstoislam.com and on and you will find enlightenment from a former orthodox Jew from Brooklyn, New York who is now a Muslim in Palestine. This is not just a disenfranchised young man but a former hard-core and committed Jew who was guided to the truth and who now seeks to give the message of Islam while dispelling false Jewish myths that are generally termed “anti-Semitic” by Mr. Weisen and others.

Last, Mr. Weisen finds the “level of hatred against Jews in general among many letter-writers in Arab New is evident and appalling”. The level of hatred among all peoples is appalling. Yet, Mr. Weisen should not assume that because Muslims and non-Muslims alike who disagree with the phenomenal level of war crimes committed incessantly against the Palestinians and who do not support the US government’s blind support and “open check” policy for the Zionist entity controlling Israel (and many in our government) that they nor myself hate every Jew. It is actions and behaviors which are hated and despised. This also applies to Muslims who distort the laws and commands of Allah and cause hardship and destruction for Muslims and non-Muslims alike. In fact, read “Jewish Americans renounce right to Israeli citizenship” (Arab News, Jan. 15). This is a magnanimous act that I, as a Muslim, greatly respect.

It is apparent to some of the prolific Jewish supporters and fighters for peace (whose writings appear in this paper) that there are vast differences amongst Jews, just as there are vast differences among Muslims and Christians as well. The few samples we read daily in the Arab News is an example of that.

What is becoming increasingly clear is that people, particularly Americans, are becoming aware of the truth behind Zionism, Palestine, etc., and the myths of the “only democracy” gracing the Middle East, Israel, while the “KO” (knock out) effect of being branded “anti-Semitic” is diminishing. Thus, at some point I hope that there will be a dialogue that leads to greater understanding and more importantly, acceptance of what has been unjustly done to a nation. Perhaps this way a lasting and just solution can be realized.
