A Great way to meet lots of muslims and learn about Islam. قَالَ " أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلاَئِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ " He (the inquirer) said: Inform me about Iman (faith). He (the Prophet) replied: That you affirm your faith in Allah, in His angels, in His Books, in His Prophets, in the Day of Judgment, and you affirm your faith in the Divine Decree about good and evil. [Muslim] Belief in the Books is the third Pillar of Iman. Allah (swt) has throughout time sent guidance to mankind by His divine books. To understand this topic correctly the following should be known. We Must believe in ALL the books mentioned Allah (swt) chooses from amongst His servants some as Messengers to reveal His divine books. The believer must ensure he affirms belief in all the books mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah. The Most famous of these books are the Scrolls (Mushaf) sent to Abraham (Ibrahim), the Torah (Tawrah) sent to Moses (Musa), the Psalms (Zabour) sent to David (Dawud), the Gospel (Injeel) sent to Jesus (Isa) and the final book the Qur’an sent to the seal of Prophethood the Messenger Muhammad (saw). Allah mentions these books in the following verses. The Scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa [Qur’an 87:19] وَآتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ زَبُوراً And we gave David the Psalms [EMQ 4:163] نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ التَّوْرَاةَ وَالإِنجِيلَ He hath revealed unto thee the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel [EMQ 3:3] شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِيَ أُنزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, guidance for mankind [EMQ 2:185] The Previous Scriptures have been distorted Allah (swt) confirmed in the Qur’an that though all the previous books were revealed from Him, today they only exist in their distorted form. The distortion came about because the priests and rabbis changed the words of Allah (swt) for their own evil gains, as Allah (swt) informs us. And verily, among them is a party who distort the Book with their tongues (as they read), so that you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book, and they say: “This is from Allah,” but it is not from Allah; and they speak a lie against Allah while they know it. [EMQ 3:78] In another verse Allah (swt) compares these priest and rabbis as false idols, as they used to make lawful what Allah (swt) prohibited and vice versa. They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah [Qur’an 9:31] the Qur’an is the only book preserved TODAY Allah (swt) sent the Qur’an as the final message to the whole of mankind and promised to preserve this book unlike other scriptures. Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’an) and surely, We will guard it [Qur’an 15:9] The Qur’an is the only book for the believer to follow and is the way to achieve guidance. This is the Book (the Qur’an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqoun [EMQ 2:2] From islambase.tk |
