This is Islam Islam means “submission to God”. Islam is the belief that there is only One God, whose proper name is Allah, which means “ the God”. you are right - you were not born a muslim in the sense that you are one - if everyone was born muslim in the way you are mentioning, there would be no need to tell anyone about it or for anyone to convert, etc.
the concept of “innate” or “natural” religion that muslims are talking about is based off a prophetic statement that states that man is born knowing his lord and believing in one god, yet his parents indoctrinate him with specifics (such as the concept of the trinity or certain rituals inherited from previous generations etc.)
this is a scholarly opinion - and the scholars differ over this (and other) issues so to understand it you’d have to go to the source and find out what evidence they are basing this on
I am sorry but I was not born a muslim, nor were my parents. I know that muslims have this crazy idea that everyone was born muslim, but thats simply not so. No matter how much you wish it were so.
