Yeah I’ve heard of it happening. Cause things are so crowded in these places (I hear, I’ve never been to a conference) that if you wear Niqaab just like another sister’s Niqaab then it most likely can heppen. I agree with abu muqatil, the trick to knowing is the handbag… Atleast you will cut down on the likelyhood of two niqaabis wearing the same kind of niqaab and the same kind of abayah and the SAME HANDBAG…

Assalaamu alay kum
My wife wears niqab, i have never confused my wife with another sister in islamic gatherings where other sisters wear niqab. Its probably due to recognition of her stance, or walk etc… I don’t think the above scenario would ever happen. Allahu ‘alim. Please be very careful when jesting, related to any aspect of our deen.

I’m afraid this can be considered mockery of the religion.  Whether you consider covering the face obligatory or not, it is still at least a Sunnah so a part of the religion.
