It is absolutely fine to do that to one’s name and from the proofs is where the Prophet (pbuh) called ‘Aishah as ‘Aish when he said “O ‘Aish this is Gabriel sending salutations upon you.”

My name is Tanbir and some ppl keep on calling me Tan, i hate that because it sounds so English so i would rather call a person Muhammad then “Moe"<<<< that name sounds so s*i*

its different for that hadith. aish is not a name at all, its a NICKNAME. there is nobody whos real name is “aish”. but MOE is a non-muslim NAME, so its different.
